Rev. Dr.
Joyce Chan
Rev. Dr. Joyce Chan is the Professor of Church History at Carey Theological College and an ordained minister in the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. Growing up in Hong Kong and moved to North America at age 17, Joyce describes herself as a true “1.5 generation.” She joined the faculty at Carey in 2004, pioneering the North American Chinese Ministries Program to equip both lay leaders and pastors for the Chinese immigrant churches in Canada. Joyce is a member at West Point Grey Baptist Church and serves in children ministry where she encounters more challenging theological questions from her elementary Sunday School students than her teaching at the seminary! When Joyce is not working, she enjoys cooking, painting and calligraphy.
