Follow our streamlined application process
to start your journey with us!
STEP 1: LEARN ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Acquaint yourself with Carey’s programs: Carey offers five distinct Masters programs designed to achieve different ministry objectives and suit unique interests. All our masters degree programs are available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese.
If you’d like to take a course first, you can apply for an Occasional Student status, which will allow you to take up to three courses at Carey.
STEP 2: CHECK OUT OUR OFFERING!
Carey currently offers all new Master’s students a Tuition-free Start! All new students will receive 8 tuition-free foundational courses in Bible, Theology, and Church History. These courses may be used towards a Diploma, Master of Arts, or Master of Divinity degree if you wish to continue your studies.
For more information about Carey’s tuition fee structure, check out our Tuition and Financial Aid page
STEP 3: APPLY FOR OUR PROGRAM
Fill out these two forms: All Students Application Form and submit a program-specific application form under the first heading “Admission Forms” of the web page.
If you plan to apply as an Occasional Student first, you do not need to submit the program-specific application form.
STEP 4: WAIT FOR ADMISSION APPROVAL
Once we receive your completed form and the reference letter (if applicable), we will review your application in our next monthly admission meeting. You will be notified of the admission response within 2 weeks after the decision is made.
got questions?
If you are not sure which program is right for you, or have questions regarding the courses or the registration process, we encourage you to book an appointment with our academic advisor or send us an email to find the path right for you and answer the questions you might have.
WHY CHOOSE CAREY?
At Carey, our goal is to help our students engage their culture and circles as thoughtful Christians, and to be lifelong learners and effective workers in their local churches and communities. We acheive this by offering accessible theological education through 3 key features of our programs.
MODULAR PROGRAM
PATHWAYS
Our programs are built on a modular credit model in which one level can build on another, enabling the learner to progress towards a higher degree at their own pace.
ONLINE LEARNING
MODEL
Online learning allows the student to stay embedded in their own local ministry to build practical skills from real-life ministry problems and solutions.
TUITION &
FINANCIAL AID
We understand that seminary study represents a significant commitment. We are pleased to be able to offer a variety of financial aid resources to help reduce the expense associated with study.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Carey’s affiliation with the University of British Columbia allows us to pursue innovations in Learning Technologies, and to ensure students have streamlined access to various platforms to improve their learning experience.
ZOOM
Zoom is a video/audio web-conferencing and collaboration tool that allows for real-time meetings and discussions with your fellow students and faculty alike. Rather than being a platform solely for lectures, we use Zoom to facilitate peer-to-peer learning experiences and community growth.
POPULI
Populi is one of the central platforms you will use for registration, payment, community engagement, and even courses. Populi can easily handle videos, group discussions, file sharing, and integrations with many populi LTIs (Learning Tools Operability) available today.
DTL2
To help you gain access to resources for courses and research, Carey has an ever growing digital library through our DTL2 (Digital Theological Library 2) collection. We believe students should not miss out on their learning because they cannot afford books, or have difficulty finding a copy; we’re dedicated to making all necessary resources for classes as close to 100% free for any students in our programs.
