Back to School - Christian Residence at UBC
Over Labour Day weekend, 40 UBC undergraduate students moved into their dorm rooms at Carey. The residents have regular opportunities to explore their faith and build community, like worship nights, Bible studies, and Cookies & Cocoa, a longstanding Monday night tradition.
To kick off the year, our residents travelled to Keats Camps from September 13-15 with four of Carey’s staff. Together they worshipped as a community and reflected on God’s invitation to be in relationship with Him and with each other. Colin Godwin, President of Carey, led a time of diving deeper into how each person is part of God’s larger story, just as He is part of each one of ours. There were also plenty of time for fun and fellowship on the ropes course, the hike to the beach, the evening around the bonfire, and the many meals around the table.
Discipling a new generation of Christian leaders has been an essential part of Carey’s ministry since the beginning. The 2019-2020 school year is now well underway and we look forward to the great things that God will do as our student residents live, study and pray together.
