TEACHING AREA: INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
Karina Vargas is Costa Rican, an educator and theologian. She holds a master's degree in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a master's degree in the Studies of Social and Family Violence from Universidad Estatal a Distancia located in San José, Costa Rica. She works for the Community for Interdisciplinary Theological Education (CETI), and the Center for Global Education and Experience Study Abroad (CGEE). She currently combines her work in the educational field with research and intervention on issues of violence and religion. She also accompanies a group of young migrants and asylum seekers in Costa Rica, where she resides. Karina enjoys spending time with her family, practicing sports, listening to music, driving, playing with children, having long and meaningful conversations, traveling, watching movies, drinking coffee and wine.
