The goal of this course is to assist students in becoming effective leaders within the Baptist communities of Western Canada and beyond by examining the history, theology, and polity of Baptists across the centuries. Required of those seeking ordination in CBWC.

After this course, you will be able to:

  1. Trace the historical and theological development of the people called Baptists, especially in Canada.
  2. Become familiar with major theological voices in Baptist life, emphasizing Canadians.
  3. Evaluate models of Baptist church polity and organization.
  4. Assess Baptist historical and theological literature and resources for ministry.
