Barry Stricker currently lives in a small town in northern Michigan and serves as pastor of Cornerstone Church of Alpena. Cornerstone is a new church that was started in November of 2015. While Dr. Stricker has been involved in churches most of his life, he has never been part of a church start (until now). It has been a wonderful experience. Dr. Stricker has been married to Julie for 36 years. Julie works as the life enrichment coordinator at a senior adult facility. Their two children are Eric (25) and Molly (22).

Over the years, he has served as a seminary faculty member (primarily in the field of theology), a seminary administrator, and a local church pastor (26 years). In addition to serving currently as a pastor, Dr. Stricker also teaches several philosophy courses at Alpena Community College in Michigan.
