"I really appreciated the ability to further my education online, which allowed me to keep serving in my ministry context. I found that the combination of formal learning taking place simultaneously with real world ministry resulted in healthy and fruitful integration."
- kyle merkel, Lethbridge, AB
"Carey has been second to none. I have had the opportunity to interact with students and staff who are very far and that has helped me spiritually. It gave me a wider perspective of ministry. I am very grateful for this education and greatly indebted to Carey."
- RICHARD MUSOYO, NDOLA, ZAMBIA
"Listen, the courses and profs were amazing but man I made some stellar friendships. Even though we’re distance it feels like a pretty tight knit community."

BIBL 501: Old Testament I
The Torah (Pentateuch) and Former Prophets constitute the Bible’s first
and longest story, an extended account of ancient Israel’s trials and triumphs
stretching from Genesis to Kings, from creation to the Babylonian exile.
These texts shape and debate Israel’s communal identity and understanding
of the divine. This course explores genres and literary features, socio-
historical contexts, theological themes and purposes while considering how
these scriptures continue to speak to us today.
HIST 502: Global Church History II
This course surveys the history of Christianity from the Age of Reform to the Modern church period until
1950. Students will gather historical insights and apply them to contemporary church issues and ministry
situations.
APPL 641 / 941: Discipleship & Education
This course examines adult Christian education in view of the shifting ways that adults understand truth,
religious belief, commitment and community.
BIBL 669 / 899: New Testament Elective
An in-depth examination of one New Testament book or selection of New Testament texts organized
according to theme or interpretive method.

WHY CHOOSE CAREY?
At Carey, our goal is to help our students engage their culture and circles as thoughtful Christians, and to be lifelong learners and effective workers in their local churches and communities. We acheive this by offering accessible theological education through 3 key features of our programs.

MODULAR PROGRAM
PATHWAYS
Our programs are built on a modular credit model in which one level can build on another, enabling the learner to progress towards a higher degree at their own pace.

ONLINE LEARNING
MODEL
Online learning allows the student to stay embedded in their own local ministry to build practical skills from real-life ministry problems and solutions.

TUITION &
FINANCIAL AID
We understand that seminary study represents a significant commitment. We are pleased to be able to offer a variety of financial aid resources to help reduce the expense associated with study.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Carey’s affiliation with the University of British Columbia allows us to pursue innovations in Learning Technologies, and to ensure students have streamlined access to various platforms to improve their learning experience.

ZOOM
Zoom is a video/audio web-conferencing and collaboration tool that allows for real-time meetings and discussions with your fellow students and faculty alike. Rather than being a platform solely for lectures, we use Zoom to facilitate peer-to-peer learning experiences and community growth.

POPULI
Populi is one of the central platforms you will use for registration, payment, community engagement, and even courses. Populi can easily handle videos, group discussions, file sharing, and integrations with many populi LTIs (Learning Tools Operability) available today.

EBSCO
To help you gain access to resources for courses and research, Carey has an ever growing digital library through our EBSCO collection. We believe students should not miss out on their learning because they cannot afford books, or have difficulty finding a copy; we’re dedicated to making all necessary resources for classes as close to 100% free for any students in our programs.
