TUITION

CAREY exists to empower faithful Christian leaders for every generation, every culture and every community. Fees are kept competitive in order to make theological education as accessible as possible. This is made possible through the generous support of churches from the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, foundations, and interested friends.

Course registration and tuition is due two weeks prior to the start of class. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please submit a letter of appeal to the Student Life Office. Payment plans can be negotiated as needed.

 
Doctoral Program and Tuition Fees
2018-2019 Tuition:
  • Course Registration Deposit (non-refundable)1 - $100

  • Tuition (per credit hour) - $450

  • Guided Study (per credit hour) - $450

  • Audit (per credit hour) - $160

  • HIST 562 Baptist Identity - $1,035

1 If a student withdraws from the course within 10 days prior to the beginning of the course, then the Course Registration Deposit will be retained by the College.

  • Prior Learning Assessment evaluation fee - $300

  • Transfer credit, advanced standing, shared credit, and PLA fee /per credit3 - $50

  • Orientation Seminar - $610

  • Course change fee - $10

  • Official transcripts - $10

  • Graduation fee - $120

  • Graduation certificate replacement - $25

  • Profile of ministry5 - $85

  • Extension fee for Baptist Identity - $75

  • Leave of Absence Fee (interruption of program) or Continuation Fee (extension of program) - $275

  • DMin Thesis Extension Fee - $1,500

  • Project binding and placement in library (Includes 3 bound copies; 2 for Carey and 1 for the student. Students are responsible for extra personal copies) - $170

  • Reread Fee (If thesis is rejected or failed and has to be rewritten) - $500

3 Transfer credit, advanced standing, shared credit, and PLA credit fees: Students admitted with advanced standing, shared credit or PLA credits are required to pay a per-credit fee to Carey. Students approved to take a course at another institution for transfer credit to Carey Theological College, the student must pay a per-credit fee to Carey. The additional fee does not apply to courses at Regent College and Taylor Seminary.

4If tuition is not paid by due date, i.e. the first day of the class, unless there is special arrangement made with the Registrar’s office.

5Profile of Ministry is a two stage set of instruments designed to help individuals understand their progress in relationship to30+ characteristics judged most important for the beginning minister by laity and clergy in North America. Stage one is administered during the Graduate Studies Orientation; stage two during Supervised Ministry. The fee for each stage is $85.

  • Center for Spiritual formation Retreats Accommodations and meals (Tuition is calculated separately according to the number of credit hours) - $1,200
