Children and Youth Outreach Worker
What brought you to Carey?
What I appreciated about Carey is how it wasn't simply possible, but encouraged to be a student and a minister at the same time. I got to learn theologically while pursuing ministry in many different avenues - supply preaching, church lay-leadership, and working at a street outreach organization. I got to see how ministry education touches all aspects of life and ministry, from preaching at the pulpit to administering Naloxone. All of these can be pastoral and ministry.
What was your favourite aspect of your time at Carey?
I loved that my education could be in my own hands, and that I could make it so connected with the ministries I was involved in.
What do you intend to do next?
I have been working in parachurch ministry for years, and while I have loved that, I feel that my call is towards a congregation. My aim is to be a congregational minister.
How has your degree helped you in your ministry?
My degree helped me grow as I was serving in Ministry.
