“Out of Egypt I called my son” - Matthew 2:13-23

As children of God, we too can feel captive or in exile. I invite you to consider the following questions as you reflect on your “Egypt”:

1. What is God calling you from? What is your Egypt? Your place of exile or captivity? As you engage with this question, remember that it is because God loves you, as his child, that He is calling you out of your Egypt.

2. Christ’s call is not just “out of” but also “towards”. “What is God calling you towards?” What new habit? What new sacrifice? What difficult act of forgiveness or of generosity? If you are struggling through a dark and difficult time, such as a pandemic, will you lean on the Lord and continue to serve him with joy?

Prayer: Lord, I want to hear your call. Help me to be open to a new destination. Thank you for bringing me freedom in Christ and for your love which calls me to a deeper walk with you.
